  • F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK sticky bit?

After several attempts and some help from a friend who has the same motherboard (Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P) we were able to get the system to post and boot with all 8Gb installed. MemTes86t+ v4.0 runs fine for hours. Just one problem... failures at the same memory address at some point during the test.

Note the same failing address: 0002ee568c0 - 750.3MB

I've tried making slight adjustments plus and minus from the stabilized settings to MCH Core and DRAM voltages, tRFC, etc. but with no luck.

From the 750.3MB I'd infer that the error is in the first stick. Is this correct or do I need to test each stick individually?

Try flopping all 4 sticks and run memtest again to see if the error is still at the same place, if it is it could be a section the BIOS/mobo is allocating....also what is your tRFC at?

I've tried 74 to 80 in 2 step increments on the tRFC. I'll try the stick swap and see how that goes. Thanks.

If you get error at different spot, then prob a stick, check each individually. If error at same spot then prob the mobo...

with your mobo and sticks might try it at stock settings and drop tRFC to 68.

Fist swapped stick is slot 1 and 2 - error at the same address. Then swapped slots 3 and 4 and after 13 hrs got a single error at a slightly different address: 0002ea569c0 - 746.3MB. (All previous errors were at 0002ee568c0.) I forgot to drop the tRFC to 68, it was at 74 during the tests. But since they were all tested at the same settings, can I conclude the issue is in sticks in slot 3 and 4 and start individual testing on just those two?

That would be my guess, test each individually and see what you get

3 sticks passed individual testing at 5+ hrs each. One stick failed once (2 errors) in Test 7, Pass 7 during a 4 hour run.
