  • Upgrading DDR2 ram on 32bit XP

I would like to update my 2gbs of ram on an Intel D945GCL motherboard. I only have two slots and right now I have F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ.
I am wondering if I should upgrade to a 4gb kit or just replace one of the 1gb modules with one 2gb module?
I don't anticipate upgrading to 64bit any time soon but I have heard windows xp 32bit does use more than 3gb of ram even though you don't see it. Considering the cost involved which option is more practical?

Yes go with the 4GB set, it's tested for both sticks to work together, otherwise could have compatibility issues between current 1GB sticks and adding a 2 GB. Matched sticks will also work better in utilizing dual channel and most 32OSs can utilize up to 3.5GB or DRAM

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:
