  • Z77-GD80 32GB Kit Memory OC

I want to overclock this memory Kit to min. 1800Mhz or 1866Mhz
    Gskill Ares DDR1600 10-10-10-30 2T (4 x 8GB: F3-1600C10-8GAO) @1.5V (2x 16GB Kit: F3-1600C10-16GAO / 1x 32GB Kit: F3-1600C10-32GAO)
    on a Z77-GD80 with i7-3770K

XMP Profil Timings for 1600Mhz are:

with this Timings no boot @ 1800Mhz
I have also increased the voltage: DDR=1,65V CPU I/O=1.2V and SA=1,2V an the timings like 11-13-13-32 2T or 12-14-14-32 2T
but it does not help! ->boot loop

so I wanted to tune the timings
    9-9-9-27 2T @1600Mhz
    -> boot loop

    memory previously ran on a "Asus Maximus Formula V" @ 9-9-9-27 1T 1866Mhz @ ~1,57V Prime95 stable!!!
can someone help me with this MSI crutch?

    currently the memory run with:
    10-10-10-27 1T 1600Mhz 1,573V and CPU I/O = 1,07V and SA = 0,97V
more is not possible with this board

The ASUS Maximus V Formula is one of the very few Z77 motherboards featuring T-Topology for the memory slots. Together with the typical ROG tweakings towards overclocking in general and memory in specific, that probably helps a bit with running four modules at higher speeds. So my first question would be, if those old settings are stable with just two modules (in both dual channel slot configurations possible).

If that fails as well, manually tweaking voltages and secondary/tertiary timings might be necessary.

It is quite rare, but sometimes too much voltage can hurt more then actually help. This depends on the ICs used.

tests with only 2 modules I want to avoid.
My CPU cooler is the Prolimatech Genesis, so no more access to the RAM

Do they have a few tips how I can adjust the suptimings? @ the Asus Board it was all on Auto, no idea what was really set!
