  • F4-3866C18Q-32GTZR and X5950 (Zen3) on X570 Asus ROG Formula VIII

    Dear all

I need help and happy to get any feedback to get the problem solved.

Changed my rig from x299 Intel to X570 with ASUS ROG Formula VIII and Ryzen 9 x5950 in december. I kept my RAM (4x8GB) from the Intel platform (which was a quad channel platform). I do well understand, that the X570 is a dual channel platform.

My original RAM figures are: 3866 with CL18-19-19-39 1.35V

Started with setting my RAM to 3600 with CL16-16-16-36 1.345V and FCLK1800 on the Bios firmware from Nov/Dec...mostly it started, from time to time I had a 0D failure from my MOBO.

Now I upgraded the Bios to the latest version from Jan (V3022) - but the MOBO didn't start anymore - only in safemode. So I changed my settings to 3600 CL17-18-18-38 with 1.345V and it started stable...but also getting from time to time a 0D failure.

What do you recommend? I don't believe, that the timings are too agressive...and FCLK1800 should be possible I believe. Do I really need to looseing the timings to CL18-19-19-39? Or do I need to change RAM? Considered for example F4-3600C16Q-64GTZN or F4-3600C17Q-64GTZN...both are 4x16GB.

Any advice is much appreciated. Many gthx.

    Best regards, JedimasterT

Just wondering, how did you motherboard not start anymore, but you got it working in safemode? Do you mean Windows would fail to boot, or?

I have my own issues with a 4 x 8gb kit not booting on a B550 motherboard, and the bios wouldn't even post. My RAM runs as standard at 3600mhz, CL14.

I'm guessing 0D failure code is for RAM?

Yes indeed - failure 0D from time to time...increased voltage, but still having occasionaly problems...so 8 times out of 10 it works without any problems and sometimes I get 0D and nothing happens anymore (need to switch off and on my rig).

Have you tried one module at a time to see if both have the same maximum results? Did you enable DOCP or input everything manually? Load BIOS defaults (F5 key), enable DOCP under AI Overclock Tuner, set DRAM Frequency to DDR4-3800 and see if that can work.
