    SOLVED - Edited Jan 9 2020- Summary – this issue has been solved – why I am not sure.

    Have recently upgraded Linux Mint to 20 from 18 and kernel upgrades as well as MB BIOS upgrade. RAM speed returned to native speed. Found I had not documented my original RAM speed tuning procedure. Include that here now.

    OK now my tuning procedure -
    1) starting in BIOS - Enabling XMP
    2) Iteratively increasing memory frequency, re boot, check if new memory frequency accepted, try next memory frequency level, if boot fails, increase DRAM voltage by 0.01V, reboot, check BIOS, continue increasing voltage until new memory frequency is accepted, repeat step increase in memory frequency.
    3) System didn't get to rated RAM memory overclock speed but one step below.
    3a) To check that your setting is stable; complete boot up got to terminal - type "sudo dmidecode -type 17" RAM speed will show up.
    4) Strongly suggest not to exceed DRAM voltage of 1.40 V unless you know for sure what you're doing. Watch video link above - don't be intimidated by technical detail in video by glean info from it. (Note he exceeds 1.4V)

    At one point I had both sticks of RAM (2 x 16GB) installed and it booted to RAM speed of 3208MHz @1.38V. When I went back into BIOS to try to save that profile and restart, I could not get that speed again, RAM reverted to native speed 2133MHz.

    Inadvertently I tried reducing the System Memory Multiplier one step from Auto (32?) to 31.33.

    Rebooted and the system came up to 3133 MHZ. I have repeated this several times after trying to tweak other setting seeing if I could get to 3200.

    I’m happy with 3133 MHz for the time being.

    I don’t understand the relationship that the Corsair guide talks about between latency and the other mentioned RAM variables. Keep that for another time. Hope this helps. End Summary.

    Hello - I've been doing this 11 year upgrade to CPU, Motherboard, RAM, GPU and Flash drive - see system inxi post.
    Before finding your forum, I've gone through many setting trials with both sticks installed from Auto with BIOS XMP enabled Profile 1 to manually setting variables.
    The RAM speed result with 2 x 16GB sticks in slots A2-B2 was always native 2133 MHz. Read a posting on your forum and tried individual sticks in all slots. All except slot B2 came up with 2133MHz while slot B2 came up with 3200 MHz for both sticks.
    I don't know if my conclusion of something wrong with channel A on the motherboard is correct or not. It seems that both sticks can perform individually at 3200 MHz.
    Any comments would be appreciated

    What a coincidence, I have a problem OC'ing this product too and we posted at the same time !

      So A2 slot only works at DDR4-2133?

      Have you tried A1 to see if it can boot?

      Check CPU socket pins and cooler installation to make sure they are good. In some cases re-seating the processor can help. If problem persists, trying another motherboard may be necessary.

        Hello & thanks for replying. Using sticks one at a time and alternating in all slots ie 1 x16 GB in A1,A2,B1,B2. All positions boot up but fine but in positions A1, A2, B1 RAM speed is native 2133MHz and only in B2 is RAM speed 3200 as shown in BIOS photos.
