  • F4-3600c16D-32GTZR Overclock

    Hello,
New to PC building and everything involved. Recently finished my first build and looking for some advice. I have the MSI Z390 MEG Godlike motherboard and an i9-9900kf. I got my overclock to 4,000mhz at CL16-16-16-36, trcf at 500, but no matter what I do I can't get any faster. I've loosened the timings, upped the voltage. Fail to boot every time. Is there something I'm missing?
    Thanks in advance!

You probably have hit the board limit for 2x16GB. Only the 2 DIMM Z390 models like the Apex, Gene or Dark can go higher and hit 4133 or 4200/4266 with those, if the IMC of your CPU is up to it.

This is very helpful. So basically, I'm just a noob and should have known this. Thank you very much.

To be fair, it is not exactly something that the motherboard manufacturers advertise. "Up to DDR4-4600" just sounds better than "DDR4-4600 with 2x8GB only".

Yeah. That's why I was confused. I know for next time though. Guess I'll just stay happy with what I got it to then.

Seems odd you can't hit higher than 4000MHz with the GODLIKE when i can hit 4133MHz on my MEG Z390 ACE with a 9900K.

            Try this,
            4133MHz - 19-19-19-36 1.36v
