  • RMA Qs

Hey guys.. got a few queries regarding RAM RMAs and the process.

I've had one of my ram sticks fail this week so I need to send it in..
    (G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo RGB 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL36 EXPO)

I bought them last year, so I know they are still covered by warranty, but I think in order to maintain proper matching I will need to return both sticks yes? (is that still a thing these days?)
If possible does anyone know what the average processing and turn around time is? (I'm in Australia), or is there maybe a local place to take it for RMA?

My biggest problem here is that I don't have any other ram to use in the interim, this is my only available computer, and thanks to current pricing trends and my financial situation I just cant afford to buy a set to use temporarily so I will be offline for however long it takes, unfortunately I've been reading online that this may take up to 2 months, is this true?

I know some brands (logitech/corsair) will/used to allow you to hang onto the working parts until the replacement/s arrived and then have you send them in after or tell you to throw the old ones away, is this something they (g.skill) do?

Is there any other useful Info that I may have forgot to ask for?

    Thanks

    1. It is possible to just RMA the faulty module from a dual kit, but generally not recommended. It can sometimes lead to issues and then require another RMA of both sticks.

    2. No idea about the turnaround time for Australia, sorry. For us in Europe RMA duration is three to four weeks total.

    3. To my knowledge there is no advance RMA.

      Thanks for the reply,
(sorry, thought I replied to this last week, must've forgot to hit post reply)

I ended up sending them both in to avoid the potential issue/s you warned me of and they arrived in Taiwan about 10 days ago, now I'm just waiting to see what happens next..

Do they send me an email or notice of approval or processing or something like that when the replacement modules are being sent?,
or do they just do it all silently and I should just regularly be checking the post box?

      Thanks.

You should get shipping information via email, once the replacement has been dispatched.
