  • Problems with RGB

    Hi

Im not sure where to ask but i will also try here.

I got the G skill royal trident ram with a asus motherboard that runs armoury crate.
Then i got case fans from Thermaltake that uses TT Rgb plus software.

Recently TT updated ther software and now the RGB leds on my ram wont work anymore.
When i boot up my pc then TT rgb plus starts to load automatic and then suddenly my ram rgb becomes staic and wont continue to show rgb rainbow mode that flows.

If i exit TT rgb plus and opens armoury crate then the rgb works fine until open the TT software again..

Is there a fix for this beside change case fans to corsair or something else ?

Is it not possible to control these fans via Armoury Crate?

Using only one RGB app is preferable in most cases, to avoid software conflicts like that. Otherwise you are basically relying on TT to either fix their app or adding a switch that disables the DRAM/SMBus access, when it is not required (wanted). Reverting back to an older TT RGB Plus version might be a viable workaround, but is probably not ideal longterm.

No the fans are connected to ther own controllers that only gets power from the psu.
This system works fine alone and has been problem free for years now.
Only the latest update of ther software has messed up the memory RGB and the Led strip that is connected to the mothers boards rgb pins.
I found a folder from TT rgb plus that saves profiles created in the software and if i delete this folder then everything works fine beside the fans will have ther own life with the speed and rgb. So it has something to do with this profile and folder that might cross armoury crates softwares.

Als oi tryed the old program from TT but now it also does the same. So i think the new files has allready crossed path with the other software..resulting in a format c:/

The fans requiring their own controller, instead of being able to just plug them into an RGB header of the MB (daisy chaining), can be a major downside.

Since the software downgrade didn't work like expected, that probably means some system files (shared resources) got replaced with the update. They won't be replaced by downgrading, because a newer version of that file is already present. Usually you can get away with uninstalling both RGB apps, rebooting and then installing them in the right order. Going back to a restore point right before the update of TT RGB Plus might also work, if you got one. That should be less trouble than a full re-install of Windows.
