  • G.SKILL Trident Z Royal Series - TIMING IS NOT RUNNING AS ADVERTISED

    Hello all,

CPU-Z is showing my timings at 19-19-19-43 (under the Memory tab)and this RAM is supposed to by running at 15-16-16-36. However, The SPD tab is showing my correct timings at 15-15-15-36 (Screen shots attached). IWhy is CPUz showing these different readings?

My PC specs: ASUS ROG Maximus XI Formula Z390 MoBo, CPU is an intel i9-9900KF base speed 3.60 GHz but running at 4.68 GHz, Nvidia RTX 2080ti 11 gb, SSD Samsumg 980 Pro 2TB, EVGA 1000 Watt PSU.

    Thank you!

The programmed timings are part of the XMP, that has to be enabled manually in the UEFI. If you just increase the frequency instead, the motherboard tries to determine the timings automatically and the results might differ from those.

Thank you! That’s what I figured.

My BIOS gives me XMP I AND XMP II. I’ll test it on both. My initial thought was enabling XMP rather than manually changing the timings anyway.

Thank you for the link. I’ll check it out.
