ram default issues on asus p67 boards

Hey for all of you with ram defaulting to 1333 after cold reboot, it does appear to be a board issue. After forum crawling for several hours I found the solution that fixed my issue, it is as follows;

1. reset cmos

2. enter bios

3. set xmp mode porfile 1

4. reenter any bios setting you may have changed

5. set apm to pcie enable

6>save and exit.

this seems to have solved the issue

Can you elaborate ? What is APM ? which board is that from ?
