XMP Profiles

Hi just put together a new build with a Gigabyte GA-X79-UD7 and G.Skill TridentX F3-2400C10Q-16GTX with the F10 & F11w Bios and can't seem to boot with either XMP Profile.Is this a known issue with this board? Haven't tried any thing else, as in changing the Voltage manually yet,just surprised as these profiles usually work.Thanx your help is appreciated

3XXX or 4XXX processor? If 3XXX its likely you cant run 2400 mhz. If 4XXX try the sticks individually to see if one is possibly bad

It's a 3930 ,want to see if I can make it work before I start pulling out sticks of Ram,Memtest came back good

There is no reason to pull the memory its is perfectly fine, issue is your processor isnt capable of 2400. Best bet is to try 9-10-10-30 or 9-11-11-32 timings at 2133, will be very little difference in performance even in benchmarks

Strange as I have read of other people running those Profiles on other boards with that ram and processor ?

Not saying it isnt possible just saying the majority are not capable, the board plays very little into memory speed anymore since its controlled by the processor. You can try bumping vccio/vccsa up .1v and perhaps dram voltage up to 1.67v and seeif that helps but i suspect it wont

Still only boot at 1866,saw 2200 with a cpu overclock,suggestions? these guys manged it

Which timings did you try? Try 10-11-11-30 as well @2133, there are 2600ks that occasionally can run 2400, most can do 2133, some only do 1866 with a quad kit in. You have the same imc, one persons success ocing doesnt mean anything in another situation

Running stock timings with no cpu overclock, on Gigabyte site they're saying run profile 1 then manually adjust timings to 2133, at 1.6V,system memory multiplier on Auto

Which is what i have been saying the entire time, do that work? Make sure the timings arent still the default ones or it will never boot

No that doesn't work, as soon as I set either profile no matter what other settings it's a no boot,set 1866 and that works with profiles disabled ,wont boot at any higher manual setting.Used Easy tune and it set it to 2218 with a 3.8 Cpu overclock and it boots fine? as soon as I load any profile its a no go, maybe one stick is acting up and it;s time to RMA ?

So it;s running stable at 2218Mhz 10-11-11-29 setup by easytune 6 and I notice in CPUID that it says under the timings table 10-13-13-33 at 1.65V to get 2400Mhz,wonder if that would work on manual?

What is your current VCCSA Voltage? You can manually set higher while increasing DRAM Frequency to push limits and see what your CPU is capable of.
