  • X99 Asus Deluxe - 8 sticks of F4-2800???

Currently I am using 4Gx4 G.Skill F4-2800C16Q16GRK which is on the QVL list for 16 gigs of RAM for the Asus X99-Deluxe board and the memory works GREAT -- running at full 2800 using XMP in the UEFI BIOS.

I could use a little more RAM, so ordered another set of RipJaws identical to those listed above but after ordering them, THEN (DUH!!!) checked the latest QVL and 4Gx8 was NOT LISTED -- in fact, only a couple of other brands were listed as working with this motherboard in the 4Gx8 configuration.

DID I make a mistake -- what are my chances that adding another 4 DIMMs that are identical to the first four will still work at full XMP rated speed and not have any other issues or should I return them without trying them out and having to keep them?

    Thoughts/Opinions??
Phantek Enthoo Pro tower, Asus X99 Deluxe, G.Skill RipJaws 2800 8x4GB, i7-5930K, 2 EVGA NVIDIA GTX 980 SuperOC'd in SLI, Corsair H105, Seasonic X-1250, Samsung Pro 840 256 GB SSD for OS/Programs, Samsung Pro 850 1 TB SSD for Data, WD Black 2 TB HDD for backup, Asus BD-Burner, AFT Pro-77U USB3 card reader, MaxKeyBoard X8, Logitech MX1100 mouse, SpectraView LCD2690WUXi2 w/ calibration software, Epson R3000 printer, etc.

There is only one way to find out, and that is to give it a shot. When attempting two separate kits, it may be better to manually input settings in BIOS since XMP is designed for a single kit of RAM.

      It worked

Just for kicks and giggles, I added the four identical sticks of DDR4 F4-2800 and left XMP on in the UEFI BIOS and all 8 sticks show up -- everything (8x4GB) seems to work just fine.
