Problem with Mixing F4-3200C16D-16GVKB and F4-3200C16D-16GVK RAM kits
I bought a set of the F4-3200C16D-16GVK ram and installed it in an AS Rock Z-170 Pro4S MB. I could use the XMP-3200 option with no problem on the one kit. Liked the ram so much I decided to add 16G more, thought I had ordered the matching set but was shipped a F4-3200C16D-16GVKB memory kit.
New ram works fine on 2133 setting can’t get it to accept the XMP-3200 setting. I see the kits have different XMP timing profiles. Any way to make this work with what I have?

Set it to the higher numbers and see if they can work together. It may be best to start from a lower frequency first like 2800 then work your way up. Rather than using XMP, manually input basic RAM settings and let the motherboard detect the rest.

      Thanks!

Thanks, I will try to set it manually. Overall very pleased with the ram. Should have ordered it all at once from one supplier.

      Thanks,

It seems that the different timing setting on XMP for each of these kits is confusing the MB. It keeps defaulting back to 2133. I set the bios to 3200 and when it boots it defaults to 2133. Possible to return one and get a matching set ?

        Thanks,

        John
