  • Help ...1.98gb usable - F3 12800CL9D-4GBZL+GA-970A-D3P +965BE

Weird issue with my RAM... each time i set ram to 1600MHZ ( by enable XMP or just manual change DRAM setting ), windows only detect 1.98 GB usable, and when checking on CPU-Z on channel become "single".

When Change RAM to 1333 windows will detect 4GB and on CPU-Z is "dual channel"
    Please help

Try raising Dram voltage to 1.55v. and raise the CPU/NB voltage .1v

Already tried raising DRAM to 1.6 V and CPU/NB voltage to 0.1 v
      Still have this issue :'(
Whether there are effects of using 2 sticks of ram from quad channel ram (4 sticks) ??

Using 2 sticks from a quad channel kit won't hurt anything they should still be matched to run in dual channel. I don't know what is causing your issue the only thing I can figure is that your cpu doesn't want run at 1600 MHz so the memory gets unstable when you try. You can run 1333 with 8-8-8-24 timings to get similar performance.

All ddr3 memory is capable of single/dual/triple/quad channel it comes down to home many sticks you use and the motherboard to determine how many channels it runs at, quad channel memory is no different from single

You have both memory modules installed in the white slots? 2nd and 4th slots away from the CPU?

Those are the initial dual channel slots.

                Thank you
