    Regarding Asus X58 boards and GSkill DDR3 2000 speed ram, if you are having stability problems or your memory isn't performing as well as you expected, you can experiment with DRAM Back to Back CAS Delay.

    I did some reading on this and then decided to experiment on my own. By removing the setting from Auto and manually putting mine at "4" my rig is more stable and my memory read performance has improved. I also tried values from 5-12 and with each step up read memory performance decreased. At the higher values the machine also got quirky.
