  • Ripjaws get errors at full speed

I'm building a new system, and can't seem to get my Ram to operate correctly at full speed. This is with no overclock of the CPU yet.

Windows will load fine, but randomly crash. Running Prime95, 2 cores will error out and then lock up the system. Memtest shows errors testing both sticks and each individual stick. If I run Memtest at stock bios speeds, it passes fine.

I read the DDR3 1866 thread and followed the directions.

    I Tried:
    1. Set the AI Overclock Tuner to DOCP for DDR3-1866
    2. Set CPU-NB Voltage to +0.1V

    Also tried:
    1. Set the AI Overclock Tuner to Manual for DDR3-1866 (but other settings left on auto)
    2. Set DRAM Timings to 9-10-9-28-2T
    3. Set DRAM Voltage to 1.5V and 1.55V
    4. Set CPU-NB Voltage +0.1V

    System:
    Asus M5A97 R2.0 (non-LE, latest bios)
    AMD FX 6350
    CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo
    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1866 F3-1866C9D-16GXM
Using the same color slots furthest away from the CPU
    Windows 7 Pro x64

    Any ideas?

Have you tried one module at a time?

      Only for testing with Memtest:

Each module has errors when tested by itself?

Yes, but I think I have it figured out. I was copying settings with this CPU & Ram from another forum and had the CPU/NB frequency at 2600. I set that back to auto and it seems to pass Memtest fine now.
