Processor frequency settings might be different!

    Hint:

Processor frequency multiplier of 15x only for Phenom X4 9950 BE! This is an already overclocked value (3 GHz)!! Standard for this CPU is 13x (2.6 GHz).

On M3A78 Pro the Northbridge, Hypertransport and Core voltage can be set on Auto (for 2x 2GB = 4 GB, 2 sticks). I haven't found any problems up to now.

I've tried putting in these settings into my M3A78-EM but it still cannot run stable at 1066 mhz. I have run memTest on this set several times at 800mhz and never had any problems so I do not believe it's the memory. Can you please help me?

Something to note, the bios setting procedure with the M3A78-EM does not match up with your guide exactly. For example, the Northbridge volt can only adjust by +50mV, +100mV, and +150 mV. The same applies to the core and PCIE voltages. Additionally, there is no 2T mode to be enabled.

I have the Athlon Kuma OC'ed to 3.1 Ghz (x15.5 multiplier)

        RE:sjchou
Try putting you're processor in auto to the default values. Then run the ram @ their timmings and this should solve the problem. I had to do the same thing, but with a differant chip. Good Luck

Well after multiple Bios settings and memory locations, I've finally found a setting that allowed me to pass multiple MemTest runs and run stable. For those that are curious, here are my settings:

AMD Athlon 7750 Kuma OC'd to 3100 Ghz
          Asus M3A78-EM
          F2-8500CL5D-2GBPK

          Multiplier x15.5 (3100 Ghz)
          CPU Core + 0.50mv
          CPU NB + 0.50 mv

          DRAM Timing Configuration (submenu)
          - Memory Clock Mode: Manual
          - Memclock Value: 533 MHz
          - Memory Ganged Mode Disabled: Always (this is under a different submenu)
          - DRAM Timing Mode: Both

          DCT0 1st:
          - CAS Latency (CL): 5 CLK
          - TCWL: 5 CLK
          - TRCD: 5 CLK
          - TRP: 5 CLK
          - TRAS: 15 CLK
          - tWR: 8 CLK )
          - tRFC0: 195ns
          - tRFC1: 195ns
          - tRFC2: 195ns

          DCT0 2nd:
          - tRFC3: 195ns
          - TRC: 33 CLK
          - TRRD: 4 CLK
          - tWTR: 4 CLK
          - tRTP: 3-5 CLK

          - DCT1 1st and 2nd: Same as above

Put the two sticks in A2 and B2, that's what got everything to work for me.

            Only works at 800Mhz

I can't seem to get my configuration working with either of the suggestions in this thread. It will boot and I can log in, but after a short period, it crashes/hangs/unstable. I can only run at 800Mhz. I've had this configuration at 800Mhz for about 1.5yrs now and decided I should really take a shot at getting this going correctly.

I think I have put all the relevant pieces of information below.

            Model of the motherboard: M3A78-EM
Model of the memory: F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK (I dunno why the sticker says this on the sticks but shows up as F2-8500CL5-2GBPK. Anyways, it's 2x2GB)
Model of the CPU: AMD Phenom II Black Edition X4 940

            Looking forward to some help/feedback.

              Did you already try DDR2-800 4-4-4-12 2.0V

That will first help us determine whether the kit can work. These settings will actually be faster than DDR2-1066 CL5 anyway.

The modules can show up as F2-8500CL5-2GBPK because that is showing the model for each stick, not the entire kit.

              Thank you

                Ddr2-800 4-4-4-12 2.0v

                DDR2-800 4-4-4-12 2.0V seems to work fine.
I can boot into Windows and CPU Tweaker reports the correct timings. I've also run SuperPI 32M and it was fine.
Ran MemTest86+ 4.20 for close to 1.5hrs for a PASS.

Should I even bother with DDR2-1066? Would be nice to see what these things can do I guess ;-D

Can always try, but note all your current settings for fallback.

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:
