  • Help with Trident Memory on Asus X79-Deluxe

    Hello-

I recently purchases G.SKILL Trident X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2666 (PC3 21300) Desktop Memory Model F3-2666C11Q-32GTXD for my new Asus X79-Deluxe motherboard. Memory works fine on mb, but my issue is that when I set the memory to XMP, it overclocks the BCLK Freqency, which causes me to lose all the power saving features on this motherboard. Is there a work around to this? Can I reset the BCLK setting to 100mhz? Can someone help me with this please????

    Thanks, and Happy New Year!

So you've built a computer on that platform and are hoping yo use power saving features? Im suprised of will run @2666mhz at all without ocing the processor some. If you want to save power you will likely need to manually clock the kit to 2133 and stock clock your cpu. Most x79 systems dont like 2666mhz glad to see yours will do it.
