  • ddr3 2400 Mhz compatibility with fx 8350

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to Tradesman and Team !!! GSKILL ROCKS!!
Very very happy with my sniper 16gb 1600mhz.........and as usual time has come to rise...
eyeballing tridentx 2400mhz 8gbx2 dual kits ........which is apparently half the price of a full 8gbx 4 kit.....

i dont know and have no knowledge whether 2400 on four channels will work at stock clocks with my setup............
fx 8350---downclocked to 3.7GHz(slap me in the face and call me susan) @ 1.25v
    H80 push pull
    asrock 970 extreme 4...updated bios to p2.20
    snipers @ 8-8-8-22
    zotzc 650 ti 2 gb
    240 gb zalman

i dont know if tridentx will work at rated freqs with my chip??

Before i take the plunge if any of you have experience please help!

asrock 970 extreme4 with p2.20 allows for 2400 mhz ram freq scaling in BIOS!!!

    FYI im a pro overclocker

It would be a challenge, best I've seen thus far on the 8350 with 2 sticks is 2200, with 4 sticks it was 2000....but with a good price on the sticks it might be fun to try. Will definately take an OC

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

      hmmm.......
will have to test my luck...
whenever i get the kit(s) and slap it in ill do me best ....

on the brighter side amd has promised am3+ socket reusability for initial revisions of steamroller chips..

im guessing they will have an imc rating of ddr3 2133 and overclockability to 2400...

im guessing the next batch will have imc at 2133mhz ,30 nm @ 1.0 volt ddr 4 and overclockability much higher than 2400mhz......ofcourse this requires new mobo and maybe with ddr4 and pcie3 for AMD......

talk about 2.5+ years of using the same board(am3+) to run different chips!!!!...sempron/athlonII/PhenomII/Bulldozer/Piledriver/steamroller...

      way to go amd

      till then gentlemen....

Could well be, we had at least 1 that hit 2400 with their new APU

I'm use the exact setup your talking about, just slaped her together.
          AMD 8350
          CM LIQUiD COOLING
          ASUS crosshairs v formula-z
          G skill (8gb x 2) 16gb total ddr3 24000
          HIS 7950 amd 3gb 382bt
          SSD 500 gb Samsung 840

OC. So far my CPU is hitting around 4.7ghz.
OC. Video card 1100mhz, memory 1575mhz
OC. G skill memory is stable at 2135mhz!

The memory works fine with the CPU at factory clock settings I was getting 2400mhz out of the trident X
Haven benched score 2385 FPS. 91.5
          Hope this helps

I am about to purchase Asrock 970 Extreme4 and use it with FX 3850
A friend of mine has it and I saw that you can set manually 2400MHz with that CPU
              Question:
will G.SKILL F3-2400C10D-16GTX 16GB (2X8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200 2400MHZ TRIDENTX DUAL CHANNEL KIT work at that speed using the XMP profile that I suppose it has or to go for the 1866MHz and that product G.SKILL F3-1866C8D-16GTX 16GB (2X8GB) DDR3 PC3-14900 1866MHZ TRIDENTX DUAL CHANNEL KIT ?
              Thank you in advance!

These are not my own screens, they were made by a fellow Hardwareluxx user:

DDR3-2600 CL10 obviously needs a lot less vdimm

I could have gone further but this was using Ripjaws Z 2400 CL10 2x4GB kit.
