  • G.Skill DDR4 Decode Chip Maker from Serial Number (Samsung, Hynix)

    Hello.

I purchase F4-3200C15D-32GTZ cl15-15-15-35 https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3200c15d-32gtz and as I found I can read from serial number the chip maker of the ram.

For example I also own F4-3200c14d-16gtz with SN:1649A50049xxxxx.
The first 4 digits are year and week (16 is year & 49 the week of production),
next 4 digit saw as the chip maker, 5 is for samsung and 4 for hynix chip,
that mean the A500 are samsung chip.

The new ram I purchase missing from the "middle" the 4 digits that saw as the chip maker.
    The SN: are 17421138337 & 17421138338.

Is there a way to decode/learn if they are Samsung B-die chip?
Has anyone else the same ram with the "new form serial number" and can tell if they are samsung?

I ask these because I don't want to open the package, if they are not samsung b-die so
I can get back if I need it to take an other kit.

My english is no the best
    Thanks

My system it's not ready to post results and today I return the ram (32gb are too big for me) to the store and replaced with F4-3600C17D-16GTZ (half priced)
and now I wait to recieve the ram if there is not problem with availability.

      I found the F4-3600C17D-16GTZ 3€ cheaper from 3200cl14 and the F4-3466C16D-16GTZ 13€ cheaper
and order it the 3600cl17. Worth it?

Also some more infos for "the decode" I found are from woomack
      Generally all 3000/3200/3600 at lower timings and 3600 17-18-18 are probably B series. 3000 C15, 3200 C16, 3400 16-16-16/16-18-18 and 3466+ C17 except 3600 ( which can be on both ) are E.
My old ram F4-3200c14d-16gtz OC easily to 3600 cl16 16-16-36 with 1.35Volt and leave it there, I didn't try other frequency/timings.
