Default 2133 Timings?: SNIPER F3-17000CL11D-8GBSR

Hello, I just installed my first ever set of G.Skill SNIPER F3-17000CL11D-8GBSR on my new build and they have just passed their 2nd pass of Memtest86+ flawlessly. (Except for the weird Memtest bug where is shows my RAM like this... but whatever.

I would just like to ask for the proper timings for 2133MHz with my ASRock FM2A55M-DGS motherboard (I have the lastest 2.30 BIOS installed.)

Thanks in advance for any advice that you can give!

The spec timings call for 11-11-11-30, 2T, 1.6 so at 11-11-11-29 you're a hair better than stock. I'd leave as is unless problems come up, the different BIOSs on different boards can set the timings off drom spec to fit with their own inner parameters. How do you like your APU?

Thanks Tman, I have read many of your posts and I think the support you offer here is great!

Ok, that sounds good, I will use the XMP that the BIOS suggests.

This is a secondary system which I built to use at my GF's place. I just built it yesterday and I am really liking it so far.

I am still slowly downloading my games through Steam so I have not really had a chance to test out the A10-5800K + HD 6670 Dual graphics yet. I will report back here once I test it out

My Hyper 212+ cooler came in, I just need to get some time at the GF's place while she is doing homework or something to install it and set up some overclocking.

I memory is working perfect at 2133MHz though.

Hello again.

Well I had no luck with OCing the APU. It is stock 3.8GHz Boost 4.2GHz and even trying to set it to stick at 4.2GHz constant gives me low 3dMark11 scores.

I also has little luck raising the iGPU clock higher, I'm probably just messing something up.

My best scores are achieved by leaving the APU stock and raising both of the 6670 DDR3 clocks up from 800MHz to 840MHz.

Scores...

800/800 = P2737
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6149260

850/840 = P2729
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6172360

840/840 = P2764
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6172460

I think the proper conclusion (that many sites have iterated) is that unless you already have a 6670 (as I did) or you just want to run the a10-5800 alone for some very light gaming, it is better to get FX 6300 or 6100.
