  • KM570 RGB cherry Red (Bricked??)

Had the keyboard working great with updated firmware with some custom lighting by default and then RGB ripple on keypress.

About 10 days of no issues, all the sudden the keyboard wont turn on, any attempt to plug it into any usb port(s) since it requires 2 it seems cause windows to shut down that usb port for safey reasons.

Attempted on multiple computers. Attempt to manually reset via instructions here were to no avail as it would shutdown any USB port via windows 10.

RMA'd it back to newegg for a replacement. Has this happened to anyone else?

We haven't heard of issues like this yet. Can you try resetting/reflashing the keyboard firmware?

See this thread for instructions to how to reset the firmware for the KM570 RGB.

I attempted the above many times over the weekend. When pressing down underneath the stand with a paperclip and the plugging it in, it would still lock up all USB ports. Would not even give OS time to recognize the keyboard as a keyboard or as a "drive". Basically would not even show up as a connected device.

Attempted on multiple machines. Almost as if the keyboard was asking for way more power consumption then it needed.

Also step 5 and 6 could be explained better and be more specific as to where to look for each version of windows. By "My Computer" do you mean "this PC" on windows 10? And when you are there,"there should be a drive with 64kb size" are you indicating that the keyboard would show up like a external hard drive would and not a keyboard under devices?

        That's rather strange.

Yes, steps 5 and 6 refers to "This PC" on Windows 10, and yes, it should show up like an external drive with 64kb size. Subsequent directions indicate that you need to access that drive and delete/copy contents, so it would not be a device or a keyboard under devices.

May we know which motherboard you have, and which other USB devices you also have connected? That may give us a better idea what the power consumption and power allotted are. Maybe a USB driver or BIOS update is needed, if it's an old motherboard?

The keyboard itself shouldn't require so much power that it shuts down USB ports. Please do RMA the keyboard and let us know if the issue continues.

Asus P6T SE Motherboard updated to latest according to https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P6...Desk_Download/

pretty simple gaming mouse, keyboard, a USB LED lighting (tested with this not plugged in, no difference).

The USB ports on the motherboard seems to be native USB 2.0 ports, so there shouldn't be any problems accidentally using a USB 1.1 port.

Have you reflashed the firmware and get it to work? If reflashing the firmware doesn't help, then you'll need to do an RMA, and after the keyboard makes it back to us, we'll have to anazlyze what went wrong with the keyboard.
