  • Question about usable memory on my mobo

    I have an 'ASUS SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK 2/USB 3.1 LGA 1150' mobo.

    I am currently using G.Skill Sniper F3-1866C9-8GSR, 16 GB - runs perfectly.

I am interest in some faster memory, might help a little with gaming.

What would be the best faster memory for my mobo?
    And should I use DDR3 or DDR4?

I was think of 2133 speed.

LGA1150 is limited to DDR3 memory, the two standards are not interchangeable and need the appropriate memory slots on board and memory controller in the CPU. And while DDR3-2133 is still within the range that most boards can handle, the jump from DDR3-1866 is not that big and your current memory might be able to overclock to DDR3-2133 with only a few manual adjustments.
