  • P55M-UD2 4 X 4GB Memory Recommendation?

I'm dusting off an old PC that's been sitting in a closet for the past 4 years for use as a spare computer and I'd like to replace the old RAM modules which are showing some errors in Memtest86. The PC uses a Gigabyte P55M-UD2 mobo and an I5-750. Parts have been checked; mobo and CPU are in good working order. The computer will be used primarily web browsing and emails only, so there's no plans to overclock.

Unfortunately, the board is so old it no longer appears in the G.Skills website ram configurator. All the prior forum messages regarding this mobo are 5-7 years old, so I'd like to find out what current G.Skills modules are compatible with this mobo.

NewEgg shows the following G.Skill 4 X 4GB kits as being compatible:

    G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) Model F3-2400C11Q-16GAB
    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) Model F3-2400C11Q-16GXM
    G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) Model F3-2400C10Q-16GZH
    G.SKILL Sniper Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) Model F3-2400C11Q-16GSR
    G.SKILL Trident 16GB (4 x 4GB) Model F3-2400C10Q-16GTD
    G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) Model F3-2400C10Q-16GTX

Is DDR 2400 acceptable for my motherboard?

Since my motherboard is not listed in your website ram configurator, I'd prefer to ask you directly. What do you recommend for DDR 1333 or 1600?

    Thanks.

      F3-10666CL9D-8GBNT

      F3-1600C11D-8GNT

CPU needs to be overclocked for 1600, since i5-750 only has a 10x multiplier and BCLK 133 = DDR3-1333
