  • Can't run G.Skill Ripjaws V @ 3200 with Asus Prime B350 Ultra / Ryzen 1700*New T

I assembled a new system with AMD Ryzen 1700, Asus Prime B350 Ultra (latest bios 0805) and G.Skill Ripjaws V F4-3200C16D-16GVKB (2x8Gb), as I researched as Ryzen seems to like a big memory bandwidth.*

However, I'm unable to run the RAM @ 3200 Mhz. I can choose DOCP 3200 Mhz 16-18-18-39 1.35v from AITweaker instead of auto, saving and rebooting just gives me 3 long beeps until it posts in safe mode.

I tried to manually set timings (but there are so many of them) and voltages, same thing.

Is this a lost case, or am I doing something wrong? I really didn't pay a premium for DDR4-3200 to run it @ 2133...

    Thanks in advance.

That's not the ideal memory kit to reach DDR4-3200 for AMD systems.

Motherboard/BIOS and CPU may not be capable either.

Which slots do you have the memory installed in?

Do you have the latest BIOS?

Test one at a time to see what frequency each can reach.

Well, it's sold as a DDR 3200 part, isn't it?
I realized now Ryzen boards are picky. Didn't know that.

They can reach 2666Mhz with DOCP 3200 timings. BIOS is the latest, 0805.

Is it possible to have full memory timings spec to set them manually? XPS 3200 is read, but too many settings are left in auto.

hi ryzen systems are alittle bit picky with rams, afaik they want B-die rams sticks to run at higher speed. Trident Z rams uses B-dies, but not all of the varies, you need to double check what you buy
        Intel i5 6600K @ 4.5GHz 1.36v 53c Max Temp
        Asrock Z270 Extreme4
        16GB Trident Z RGB 3000MHz
Galax GTX 1070 Hall Of Fame

Never mind. Just got a Corsair Venceance 16 Gb kit and it runs beautiful @ 3466Mhz.
