  • GSkill AEGIS F4-3000C16S-8GISB OC

I have a little system with a Gigabyte GA-X150M-PLUS WS mb.I have 16 gigs of GSkill AEGIS F4-3000C16S. Right now I have it running with no problems at 2400 speed 13 14 14 36 1.40 volts. Any recommendations in help with some overclock settings to try appreciated.

Does the X150M-PLUS WS support memory overclocking at all?

I thought memory ratio and BCLK are locked on Intel C232.

With a Kaby Lake Xeon? Then that is the default memory ratio for the processor (it was 2133 for Skylake).

Yep,2133 was the speed showing in the bios.I changed it to 2400 with 1.40 volts .The stock settings showed 2133 at 16 18 18 38 1.35 volts. The oc I did was confirmed in windows with cpuz.

And does the UEFI allow you to set higher memory ratios or BCLK changes?

If not, then you are basically done already. With Skylake and Kaby Lake the real fun starts at DDR4-3866+, but you need a Z-chipset for that. Tweaking timings at DDR4-2400 brings you nowhere near that memory performance.

Yes, the UEFI lets me do memory changes, I went from 2133 to 2400 as of now..

I meant higher than the default ratio.

In the bios when I try to change the speed setting it looks like 2400 is the highest it will go since it stops there and will not go any higher...

So no memory overclocking possible, that's what i thought.

I just checked the 2 memory sticks in cpu-z and the stick in mem slot one is F4-2133C15-8GIS,and in slot 2 is F4-3000C16-8GIS.Not a match, I told the computer tech guy to put 8 more gigs and he added the F4-3000C16 since he never had any 2133 mem in stock, he said it will just down clock. Should I stay with 2400 or go back to 2133 and tighten up the timings..
