  • Replacement RAM from D.Skill

Ok guys, I have a weird situation going on. I had to RMA a dead stick of Trident Z RGB. G.Skill returned me a new stick within a week, and I have now installed it in my PC. Everything works, but now I cannot change the frequency of the RAM unless I only have one stick installed. With two, it doesn't matter what frequency I select in BIOS or what DOCP profile I select, it still only runs at 2133. It also wont apply manual timings. They stay locked at the default. Has anyone else seen this, and if so, what was the fix?

Sorry for the typo. Of course, that should have said G.Skill in the title of the post.

First of all, I would check out SPD CRC status. I believe SPD is corrupted. That's why BIOS goes crazy.

        CRC reads ok.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you use to check SPD?

G.Skill always recommends to keep the sticks in pairs by serial number. If you only returned one stick and retained the other, this could cause some issues .
