  • F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO + ASRock 970 Extreme 3 R2 + AMD FX 6300

    Hello!
    Could you give me some advices to make this setup more stable?
    CPU: AMD FX 6300 3500Mhz
    Mobo: ASRock 970 Extreme 3 R2.0
    RAM: F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO 2x2GB (1.35 V) installed in slots A1&B1, previously A2&B2

    I'm encountering instability issues (BSoD) with fallowing settings:

    Previously I used CPU NB Frequency set to 2400Mhz, but it required large boost of CPU NB and CPU voltage ~+0,5v. Without voltage boost Windows 7 loaded without Aero interface (@CPU NB freq 2400mhz). @CPU NB freq set to 2000mhz it doesnt need voltage boost to load Windows Aero and it seems to be a little more stable. CPU was never overclocked.
    I would be grateful for your replies.

    Bump CPU Voltage to 1.25V
    Bump CPU NB Voltage to 1.25V as well.

    CPU Load Line Calibration set to High.

    If your ram is 1.35V you might get some drop in voltage so I always add 0.025V to ram voltage.

        Do you have the latest BIOS?

        Memory should be installed in A2 B2

        Don't use XMP, manually input the basic memory settings.

        Try the DRAM Voltage a little higher like 1.40V-1.45V and see if that works better.

          Ty for help GSKILL TECH.
          Seems like BIOS update to version 1.60 and not using XMP helped a lot. I haven't got any BSOD or freeze yet. It works well even at lower voltages:
          @CPU-NB freq 2000Mhz
          CPU Voltage to 1.2v
          CPU NB Voltage to 1.2v
          RAM Voltage 1.35v
          ddr 1600 mhz
          timings: 7-8-7-24-1T

          I've also tried with a little OC at the same voltages and its still stable.
          @cpu-nb freq 2100
          ddr 1680mhz
          7-8-7-24-1t

          I also put the sticks back to slots A2,B2.
