I have never fiddled with RAM speeds, so please excuse my noobiness.

    I have 2 4GB G.Skill Sniper sticks

    F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

    a motherboard:
    ASUS F2 A85-M CSM

    And an APU:
    AMD A10 5800K

My computer keeps randomly freezing, and I've checked everything else, so I think I need to change something, but I've never done it before. I looked in these forums, and it said to change things, and then "if unstable" do something else. And I don't know what you mean by if unstable? Anyway, hoping that changing something will make my computer stop freezing.

Do you have the latest BIOS? Believe your mobo has either DOCP or XMP, if so, enable that and select 1866, then may want to find the DRAM Voltage and set it to 1.55 and try that

So I upgraded the BIOS, chose the DOCP, then upped the DRAM voltage to 1.55. It seems to freeze less often, but it still freezes. Is it safe to push up the DRAM voltage, or should I do something else?

I'd try raising the CPU/NB voltage about + 0.07 or so
