jonfar is reading into overclocking
Default F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL + Gigabyte F2A88XM-DS2 rev. 3.0 + AMD A10-5800k

Hi, I have BSODs on full screen apps or games

For almost a year I had no problems on stock BIOS with XMP activated on "profile 1", and I ran my PC with the full 2133mhz..
But when i upgraded my BIOS to version F7 (and then activated XMP on "profile 1" again), I started having BSODs in full screen apps..
I have tried all BIOS versions provided by Gigabyte, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8a, and its the same on all versions (F1 doesnt allow me to revert to that one)..

If I activate XMP, but downgrade the speed to 1866mhz, all runs well without any problems, but I need the 2133mhz because they give me much better performance on this APU..

What can i do?

Boost the CPU-NB Voltage to see if that helps.

Raising the DRAM Voltage can help as well.

Let us know the result.

thanks for the sugestion, but im not sure where that is and how much to boost

in BIOS there is a section with the following (and i presume this is it):

ADVANCED VOLTAGE SETTINGS

CPU Vcore ________________ Auto
NB core __________________ Auto
DRAM voltage ___ 1.500v____ Auto

so, i tried to change DRAM voltage from Auto to 1.65v (with XMP in profile 1), but i got the same result: BSODs

you're telling me to boost NB core also, right?
but by how much? it starts at 0.00v, so i dont know what value is safe

try +0.1V first and move up. Every CPU is slightly different so some testing is necessary for the ideal value
