  • Falcon FM-25S2S 64GBF1 lost Win7 boot capability

Had Win7 working as I needed....then one day, POOF! drive will no longer boot into Win7. Drive still shows up in BIOS and is accessible via boot to XP from another non-SSD drive.

I have read the forum and it seems to be a firmware issue.

Question #1: Is there any possible way of fixing this without the firmware update so I can get Win7 to boot again? so that I can create a Win7 backup image before I proceed with the firmware update.

Question #2: Since the firmware update will cause the drive to lose all data, how can I backup everything on the drive? This is my Win7 boot drive....or was but will no longer boot. I want to be able to backup/save everything on this drive, but Win7 has a lot protected folders/files that I cannot access if I share this drive with another PC on the network. I do not want to lose ANY data.

    Thank you for your time,

    Joe

    Hi,

usually we will suggest use the SSD as the system drive, and always save the important data as well, try with use the Hiren's to see if you can save the data by this.

if still not working, the only solution will be re-install the firmware and all of the data could not be recover.

    thank you
