Default Faulty Stick

Was originally planning on building a system for myself and then a system for my parents, so i bought a pack of G Skill DDR3 RipJaw 1600Mhz 2x2gb ram.

2 days ago i decided instead of waiting to build another system id add the other stick into mine and buy them a cheap stick when i needed too. The stick I had left in the packet, causes my BIOS to not post AT all. I've tried the stick alone in both channels on my motherboard, alone the BIOS doesn't post and along with the working stick it stops the PC working also.

Not sure on how I stand on returns or replacements but it feels a bit of a waste to get half my moneys worth.

Any advice would be great,

Richy
