About a week ago I ordered some Ripjaws (F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL) from Newegg.com.cn - the Chinese New Egg site. I got the RAM and some other stuff I was going to build my new system with. When I finally put it all together, it seems one of the RAM modules out of the box doesn't work. When it is seated in my system the system will not boot up at all. When I use the other one, it has no problems at all.
When I contacted New Egg about returning them, they said it would be faster if I sent them directly to the manufacturer myself, because that is what New Egg would do anyway. New Egg also instructed me that I must include both of the RAM modules when I send them back for repair/exchange, despite the fact that the other RAM is working fine and is currently powering my machine.
I would gladly fill out the RMA form and supply you with any number of details you require to repair or exchange this one malfunctioning RAM module, but I would love to know if it is ok to just send in the one malfunctioning unit, and allow me to keep the functioning one to continue to do some computing. Without the functioning unit, I'm afraid of having no computer to work with for quite some time.
Thanks again for any responses and any help provided. Truly appreciated
