  • Help Overclocking 1333 MHz (4 x 2GB) Ripjaws X CL9

I have 4 sticks of the following memory for a total of 8 GB. Currently, I've overclocked it to 1400 MHz at the stock voltage and timings (9-9-9-24). However, I cannot seem to overclock any higher. If I try 1600 MHz with the timings (11-11-11-35) at either stock voltage or 1.55 V, my computer will randomly shut down in the memtest or Prime95 Blend stress tests. I would appreciate any help.

Did you purchase the RAM recently?

Do you have the latest BIOS?

Can you send pictures of memory settings and timings?

I purchased the RAM in late 2011/early 2012 when I first built my system.

I do have the latest BIOS; I was wondering if that was the issue and updated but still can't overclock effectively.

Here's a link for the pictures.

For REF Cycle Time, set it to 220

Have you tried raising DRAM Voltage?

So the images I posted earlier were with the RAM stable at 1400 MHz. The new images below are the settings with trying to set the RAM to 1600 MHz. The timings were set to 11-11-11-35 and the REF Cycle Time to 220. I also increased the RAM voltage to 1.55 V. Unfortunately, the PC still shut off during Memtest.

You have 2 separate kits of RAM, make sure each kit is installed in the same color slots.

Or, try one kit at a time to see if each can stabilize 1600
