  • Dual/Quad Channel Kit

I'm guessing this is probably a memory 101 question, but I haven't been able to find the answer:

If used in an ASRock x299 Taichi motherboard with an i7 7820X chip, in a 4 x 16GB (64GB) configuration and installed in the proper memory slots for quad channel, does a "Dual/Quad Channel Kit" behave exactly like a "Quad Channel Kit"?

Is there any advantage to purchasing one over the other?

    Much appreciated.

As long as all 4 modules are out of a single kit of RAM, you should be fine. In most cases as long as the modules are matching, they can work well in a Dual or Quad Channel memory system. If using two dual channel kits, it may not necessarily work well in a Quad Channel system, so it does not work this way around.
