Question DDR3-2133 on Crosshair V w/ 1100T AMD

Ok im going to buy Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) within a couple of days to fill all my slots up. I want to use the 8 core black edition later on in the future as well. For now I have the AMD 1100T on a Crosshair V. What will I expect to see an what should I do from start to finish. I want to get my memory at 1600-2133 if I can at 16gb. 1600 would be fine but say I want to try for highest I can get with these sticks also. What are both config an steps for a 1600 speed? and also steps for max overclock? so I can try an go for faster later on when I get my cooling. But when I get this in the mail this week I wanna be able to at least use the all 16gb @ 1600 minimum.

Like you say/suggest, I'd start w/ 1600 and work your way up check here for the basic steps:

Cool what about some above decent to above decent cooling?

yea I only want to do so much cooling this year for now, not sure if I wanna pay so much more for little performance though. Looking for cheap cooling but very good performance. im willing to spend like $100-300$ on cooling this time around but not more than that. Looking for some nice penny saver known kits or something, maybe something I can use when 8's come also an just switch out.

Default cooling 8s

Rumors are that AMD will be including the antec 620 h2o cooler with the fx8130p,8150p,and the 8170p when they drop on the 19th of September. Nothing concrete but that seems to be the talk around Lensfire and a few other web sites. Also the 990fx MC defaults to 1866 timings not 1600, but Tman knows his stuff so I'd take his advice first as for set up.

Default This sounds exciting

Ah that's good to hear considering I will buy 8 core black edition when that comes -I'd have a extra spare cooler. I was gonna just grab a H100 from corsair. So lets try to see how high I can clock with my 16GB of 2133 ram then:

Illl buy this for my Crosshair 5:
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-17000CL11Q-16GBXL

any memory cooling suggestions? i want to def be able to cool as much memory I need to at this rate, 2133 is something new to play with I'm sure. id be happy btw to get it to 1866 on these sticks @ 16gb lol

I believe some of the high performance G.Skill memory kits come with a memory cooler.
You should be able to do 1866 with 4x4GB modules with your 1100T.
It looks like Bulldozer X8 will have an even better IMC than the Thuban X6, speeds above 1866 could be feasible.

I'm probably going to wait until January when AMD is supposed to release a 3.6HGHz Bulldozer X8 model.
With Turbo, it will hit 4.2GHz and with normal Black Edition tweaking, it should easily do 4.4 to 4.6GHz.

Wink looks like we will be rollin then :D

found this memory cooler I think I'm get got nice reviews an seems powerful 3500 RPMS:

G.SKILL FTB-3500C5-D Fans. These light up blue if I'm correct. I def want it maybe this is what i need to push to 1866? I'm wondering how far I can put my memory up with no cooler. But i defiantly gonna get this cooler this because i don't wanna risk frying my ram + mobo. I'm also waiting for the later bulldozer models as well nice ride with AMD right now So far this is best ive found next to liquid.

I plan to upgrade to the Corsair H80 or H100 when I take delivery on Bulldozer.

G.SKILL FTB-3500C5-D Fan

Definitely worth it to me, barely makes much noise and it cools at least 10+ degrees. It surely moves the hot air out of the way! That way case fans can move it on out!

Thank you
