Default Faulty Stick

Was originally planning on building a system for myself and then a system for my parents, so i bought a pack of G Skill DDR3 RipJaw 1600Mhz 2x2gb ram.

2 days ago i decided instead of waiting to build another system id add the other stick into mine and buy them a cheap stick when i needed too. The stick I had left in the packet, causes my BIOS to not post AT all. I've tried the stick alone in both channels on my motherboard, alone the BIOS doesn't post and along with the working stick it stops the PC working also.

Not sure on how I stand on returns or replacements but it feels a bit of a waste to get half my moneys worth.

Any advice would be great,

Richy

Simply send them in for new replacements and the new set should work better.

I use my system for coursework.. is it only possible if the set is sent in?

If i sent them both then I wouldn't be able to do work until i received them.

If only one stick is defective, you can keep one to use and only send in the bad one. Otherwise, you will need to send in both for a new replacement set.

Thank you

Got an RMA reply, but it specifically says to send in both sticks in the original packaging even if only one is broken.

Am I to go by what you have told me or what the email says? :/

Just go by what I have told you. =) We suggest returning the entire kit since sometimes two different modules may not work together, but sometimes you just can't go without a computer.

Thank you
