Default F1-2700CL3S-1GBSA and HP DV1000

I just purchased a pair of F1-2700CL3S-1GBSA chips for a HP DV1000 laptop. They will not fit in the memory slots. It looks like the cut in the chip is in a slightly different place than the old memory.

Shoud these chips fit this laptop (HP DV1000)? All the memory configuratiors that I have looked at say that it uses DDR PC2700 Non ECC 200 pin SO-DIMM chips.

Thanks
twpc

Should be the correct memory package. Can you take pictures and upload them here?

Thank you

I was upgrading the laptop for a friend and he may have already returned the memory to Newegg. I will post pictures if he still has the memory.

I did compare the memory chips by lining up the old chip with the new one and it was obvious that the notchs in the chips were in slightly diffenent places. It was not much, but enough so that it would not fit in the memory slot.
