  • 128GB Titan

Recently got a 128GB Titan, and it has been freezing on me constantly. I will freeze and the HDD light will be lit up, no blinks, just constantly lit. Sometimes it will blink, and I can do something and then it will freeze again. Other times, it will just crash and restarts my PC.

I have an i7 940 CPU paired with an ASUS P6T Deluxe board, running Vista 64 Ultimate. I just freshly installed everything yesterday and now it will freeze once I log in. Please help, I think it might be hardware related. Thanks!

Now the drive is not even recognized by the BIOS. The drive has a weird name and it says SATA 1 HDD failure.

    PLEASE HELP!

Did you attach it to one of the Marvel SATA ports (only 2 available) or to the 'normal' SATA ports? Should work in either, though the ICH10R controlled ports provide better performance.

Ensure the BIOS for the ports is set correctly (haven't been all that pleased with ASUS BIOS lately, you have to make more manual settings than in the past

Yeah I did, no reason why it worked for a month, and it is not working now.

What port settings were you talking about?

I just want to say thanks to you, Tradesman, coz nobody in Gskill contacted me yet or even bothered to help me.

Of the SATA ports available on your mobo, two are managed by a Marvel controller if I'm remembering right and are primarily set up for raid, they are away a bit from the others.

In the BIOS there will be different settings available for the standard SATA Ports and the Marvel ports, so you have to configure for where you are plugged into.

Good luck, I've been checking in each evening, let me know if it goes all right

Have you updated any of the drivers or the BIOS for the board, just took a look, the download page is

              http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us

and they did just update the BIOS on 3/3/09, BIOS # 1303 @

              http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us

appears they've been working fixes for a number of issues on youe mobo recently, the newest BIOS might help also.

Sorry I didn't think about that earlier
