    Hi!

    here are my specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
    Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3
    Memory: G.Skill F3-10600CL8D-4GBHK
Power Supply: BeQuiet Pure Power L7 530W

    I'm experiencing randomly Blue Screens:
    04.09.2010 19:33 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 0x00000050
    04.09.2010 19:16 CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION 0x000000f4
    04.09.2010 19:14 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 0x00000050
    02.09.2010 19:16 BAD_POOL_HEADER 0x00000019
    02.09.2010 18:50 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 0x00000050

When I run memtest it somtimes displays errors, sometimes not. I once had 11 passes without any errors.

I don't know for sure but if I reboot my PC after a memtest, the same errors are reported again in memtest. If I switch the PC off and on again, the errors memtest reported are often gone.
I also got problems when installing software. For example when I installed Visual Studio, I was told that CAB-Files were corrupted, but always different ones, at each installation attempt.

I tried different timings, different clock rate (1066/1333), different RAM Slots and I tried to raise the NB VID Voltage by 0.1 V but this helped nothing. After these changes the PC runs almost always stable but if I do a fresh boot a few days later I get bluescreens or program errors.

I will now try to figure out if the problems persist with only one stick of RAM installed.

But anyways: How can I identify what's causing this trouble and get rid of my problems?

    Regards,
    Dominik

    Hi Dominik,

Your first thought to bump the cpu/nb voltage was a good one because sometimes that helps correct the bsod problems.

I'm not sure anyone has found a one answer fits all solution for certain makes and models of RAM when paired with some of the newer AMD muticore processors.

If you havent done so already please confirm that you are using the latest BIOS available for your board. The latest official release is F2 but they do have a F3D Beta BIOS available too.

If you're not running the latest BIOS please download and flash to the latest revision.

    The next step would be to manually enter you four primary memory timings, the command rate and the DRAM voltage - don't rely on the Auto settings. For your memory that would be;

8-8-8-21 and try a 2T command rate at first
DRAM Voltage should be 1.5v but you can try as high as 1.55v if it helps

Add another .1v bump to your cpu/nb voltage and give these settings a go.

Good luck and keep us posted.

      Hi!

I already used the latest BIOS "F3D". RAM Settings are now 8-8-8-21-35, 1333MHz, 1,54V (raised by 0,04V), unganged. CPU NB VID is now at 1,225 V (raised by 0.1V).

Do I get you right, to raise CPU NB VID in total by 0.2V?

I'll give it a try and post here if it helped.

      Regards,
      Dominik

        Dominik,

        Shoot for a cpu/nb voltage around 1.26 - 1.28v

        Nothing higher should be necessary

Let me know how this works out

Send the memory in for new replacements. Sounds like there may be a problem with the memory.

          Thank you

            Hi!

Some last information before I'm going to send in the memory. It seems like the memory produces errors after a fresh reboot, as I mentioned before. After a reboot without powering off the machine the same errors as before are reported.

But if I turn my PC off and on again the errors are gone.

Is this a typically behavior of faulty memory? Or could it be some kind of intialization error caused by the mainboard, BIOS or CPU?

I read about some cold start problems of some memory sticks of a certain kind of production series ...

I just want to make sure I don't send in some intact memory.

            Regards,
            Dominik

            P.S.:
Memory now runs at 8-8-8-21-35, 1.5V, NB VID 1.275V, unganged and the problem is still reproducable.

              Dominik,

I would proceed with an RMA as suggested by GSkill Tech.

Hope the new kit works out well.

Good luck and keep us posted.

                Hi!

I got the replacement fpr my RAM and my PC seems to be stable now. I am currently using the standard BIOS settings, didn't have to change the voltage or timings to run stable.

                Regards,
                Dominik
