  • STRIX z270E + GSKILL TRIDENT Z RGB help!!

I recently upgraded my cpu, mobo, and ram. Two weeks later my computer has devolved into where I'm going to have to take both the RAM and MOBO back to microcenter.
My question is one of RAM timings. The RAM I bought is does not appear on the QVL and the Asus tech said that is what was giving me problems.
    My RAM:
    f4-3000c16d-16gtzr with cl16-18-18-38
    However these do:
    F4-3000c15d-16gtzr with cl15-16-16-35
    F4-3000c14d-16gtzr with cl14-14-14-34
    F4-3200c14d-16gtzr with cl14-14-14-34
    F4-3200c16d-16gtzr with cl16-18-18-38

So my question is, do I...
    A) get a new copy of the ram I already own (not on QVL) and try to find the OC voltages myself (since maybe Xmp was unsuccessful on my last sticks.
    B) return my 3000MHz CL16 and try to get something from the QVL? If so, should I keep my CL the same and go up 200MHz or just hope to find 3000MHz CL 14/15
My microcenter's website said that they only had the 3000MHz CL16 in but maybe they have other speeds and CL just not listed.

Edit: I7-7700k 4.2GHz stock. Was previously running at moderate 4.7GHz.
Edit 2: I forgot to link my mobo: https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic...-Z270E-GAMING/

What is the best way to get an answer from a G.SKILL Tech about this issue? I will be going to replace my parts on Monday.
