Computer keeps displaying 8.00 GB(3.96 GB usable) even after,reseating the rams, checking for bent pins and seeped thermal paste. Been trying different ways to fix this for like 3 days and still no luck. Are there specific settings that should be set in the BIOS? Thanks!

Settings will not help with missing capacity. Did the system work with other RAM before? What capacity is shown in BIOS? The motherboard may be defective and causing this problem.

Yes, but I was only using a single stick so I haven't checked if the other slots were okay. The capacity shown in the BIOS is 8gb. This is what really confuses me, 8gb is shown in the BIOS, cpu-z but only 4gb is usable.Originally posted by GSKILL TECH View Post

A static casing caused the problem. Chaging their standoffs fixed it. Thanks guys!
