  • (2x) f3-14900CL9D-8GBSR + 990FXA-UD3 (Rev 3.0) + FX-6350

I'm looking to pop the second set of my ram back into my rig and run the 16gb(4x4gb) at 1600mhz *currently 4x4GB at 9-9-9-25-2t/n 1.5v*. I would appreciate any assistance i can get with the bios settings, timings and voltages. I have my CPU at 4.5ghz(200Mhz x 22.5). I seem to have trouble when using guides and trying to get a nice HTT OC. I'm hoping to get these running as stable as possible for gaming and other constant use.

I am open to any sort of overclocking that may be necessary to get the best performance out of these non factory-matched kits.

    -Windows 8.1 64bit
    -FX-6350
--Corsair H55 with aftermarket high cfm fans push pull config
    -Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 rev 3.0
    -2 TB 7200rpm sata 6gb/s HDD
    -2x G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR
    -EVGA GTX 660 Ti 2gb
    -850w power supply
-CM Storm Scout 2 11x 120mm aftermarket high cfm fans

-Thanks again to Tradesman for help in the past.

Run them at rated speeds and timings try setring dram voltage to 1.55~1.60v. And bump cpu/nb up .1v

I actually got them running very well at 8-8-8-24-2 1.5v, and 7-8-7-24-2 1.6v. Now I'm wondering which timings will be best for stability during long gaming sessions with my fx-6350. I see many 4x4gb gaming kits at 9-9-9-24-2 1.5v

-thank you for the quick reply. I appreciate the help.

The 8-8-8-24 should be almost a given @1600 with that kit, if they wont do 1866 but will do the timings you said its the cpu/board holding you back, do you have the latest bios?

If that 7-8-7-24 is actually stable that will give better performance than the rated specs at 1866, but i bet that means you could easily drop the the cl to 8 if you get it to run there
