  • Ga-ud3p-ep45 + f2-8500cl5d-4gbpi-b

    Hello,

    I have a Gigabyte GA-UD3P-EP45 Rev 1.6 paired with a Q9450 and 8 GBs of RAM.

    My ram is 2 pair of F2-8500CL5D-4GBPI-B. I actually had 1 pair of F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK before this but I had to return it because no matter what settings I used (I THOROUGHLY searched this forum and many others). So now I have this.

    Again, I have thoroughly searched around for existing threads on getting 2 pair of this type of G.Skill memory working right with this board but I haven't found anywhere near as much information as I found with the 4GBPK.

    Anyways, no I'm out of rope and I need your help G.Skill and G.Skill community please.

    Here are my settings at the moment.

    >>> CPU Settings
    CPU Host Clock Control - Enabled
    CPU Host Frequency - 333

    >>> DRAM Performance Control
    Performance Enhance - Standard
    Extreme Memory Profile - Disabled
    MCH Frequency Latch - Auto
    System Memory Mulitplier - 3.20B (1066Mhz)
    DRAM Timing Selectable - Manual

    >>> Standard Timing Control
    CAS Latency - 5
    tRCD - 5
    tRP - 5
    tRAS - 15

    >>> Advanced Timing Control (submenu)
    tRRD - 4
    tWTR - 4
    tWR - 8
    tRFC - 80
    tRTP - 4
    Command Rate - 0 (I tried 2 and it became really unstable...meaning more than it is now)

    >>> CPU
    Load Line Calibration - Disabled
    CPU Vcore - 1.36250V
    CPU Termination - Auto
    CPU PLL - Auto
    CPU Reference - Auto

    >>> MCH/ICH
    MCH Core - 1.400V
    MCH Reference - Auto
    MCH/DRAM Reference - Auto
    ICH I/O - Auto
    ICH Core - Auto

    >>> DRAM
    DRAM Voltage - 2.040V (this seems to be the most stable..any lower it freezes, any higher it BSOD)
    DRAM Termination - Auto
    Channel A Reference - Auto
    Channel B Reference - Auto

    I need your help! Thanks so much in advance. Go G.Skill!

    Sincerely,

    Mongoose

    My cousin and I have been tweaking the bios settings to no avail. But, we are still working at it. Can we get some help here?

    Thanks everyone!!!

      Might try CR at 1T, tWTR 5, tRTP 5, tRFC 90 (and with the other timings might also try CR at 2T)

      Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

        We've been messing around with it since my last post. We managed to get it pretty stable but still not completely stable. Let me show you my latest settings to see what you think.

        >>> CPU Settings
        CPU Host Clock Control - Enabled
        CPU Host Frequency - 333
        PCI Express Frequency - Auto
        C.I.A.2 - Disabled

        >>> DRAM Performance Control
        Performance Enhance - Standard
        Extreme Memory Profile - Disabled
        MCH Frequency Latch - 333Mhz
        System Memory Mulitplier - 3.20B (1066Mhz)
        DRAM Timing Selectable - Manual

        >>> Standard Timing Control
        CAS Latency - 5
        tRCD - 5
        tRP - 5
        tRAS - 15

        >>> Advanced Timing Control (submenu)
        tRRD - 4
        tWTR - 4
        tWR - 8
        tRFC - 80
        tRTP - 4
        Command Rate - 2

        >>> Channel A Timing Settings
        Static tRead Value - 8
        The rest - Auto

        >>> Channel A Driving Settings
        Driving Strength Profile - 1066MHz
        The rest - Auto

        >>> Channel B Timing Settings
        Static tRead Value - 8
        The rest - Auto

        >>> Channel B Driving Settings
        Driving Strength Profile - 1066MHz
        The rest - Auto

        >>> CPU
        Load Line Calibration - Disabled
        CPU Vcore - 1.36250V
        CPU Termination - Auto
        CPU PLL - Auto
        CPU Reference - Auto

        >>> MCH/ICH
        MCH Core - 1.400V
        MCH Reference - 0.76V
        MCH/DRAM Reference - 0.96V
        ICH I/O - 1.5V
        ICH Core - 1.1V

        >>> DRAM
        DRAM Voltage - 2.1V
        DRAM Termination - Auto
        Channel A Reference - Auto
        Channel B Reference - Auto

        These are the MOST stable settings so far. But again, they are still not stable yet. Tradesman, do you see anything in the settings above that I need to change? The MCH/DRAM Reference has had quite an effect so far.

          Tradesman, I am trying the settings you suggested now, in combination with the settings I just posted above.

            Tried the settings you suggested Tradesman. Also tried moving the MCH/DRAM Reference - .98V. It ran pretty stable for about an hour and then it froze up.

              Here's a link to a screenshot that I took of MemSet 4.1 that shows my SPD values. I hope this helps some.

                  tRFC is at 80, prob need at least 88-90 and maybe upwards of 100 for two sets. COuld also try higher DRAM voltage...however, may have two sets that just don't want to play together

                    Ya we tried it at 80 and 90 and it didn't get us anywhere else. I will try 100 and let you know. I just hope I don't have to RMA this stuff too. This is the 2nd time I will have done that in 1 month.

                      Does a G.Skill tech want to add their 2 cents??

                          Still nothing. I tried the higher tRFC at higher settings like you suggested (100, 110 and even 115) and still nothing. WTF??!!!

                              Make sure each kit is installed in the same color slots. Since this is not a 8GB kit, it can be a memory matching problem.

                              tWTR 5
                              tRTP 5

                              DRAM Termination should be half DRAM Voltage

                              Let me know how that works.

                              Thank you
