  • F3-1866C10D-16GAB + ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z + AMD 990FX + FX-8350 Vishera 5.0GHz

Well I'm back again, I decided to upgrade my motherboard for better overclocking options and for more SATA ports, so far I've been able to overclock my CPU to 5.0GHZ and it's stable so now I would just like to get my RAM to 1866 like I had on my old build. I'm trying to get some pointers on how I should set my BIOS settings on my Crosshair V Formula Z because as of right now when I try to set it to 1866 it wont boot and the overclock fails... obviously it's because I don't have the voltages and timings set right so any input would be greatly appreciated. As of right now it's defaulting to 1333 and I've got it running stable @ 1600 and it doesn't seem like I can get it any higher.

My CPUZ and HW Monitor Infos.

Do you have the latest BIOS on the mobo? What is CPU/NB freq at, CPU/NB voltage, DRAM voltage? Have you tried under DOCP #0? Have you tried manually setting things up

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Yes I have the latest BIOS, that's the first step I took. The CPU/NB Voltage is at 1.175, the NB Frequency is on Auto @ 2200. The DRAM Voltage is @ 1.5 (Auto).. I cant seem to find a DOCP setting anywhere I couldn't find it in the manual either.

Try the NB freq at 2400 and CPU/NB voltage at 1.2

Well I got the RAM running at 1866, I'm not sure of it's stability. It runs programs on the desktop just fine, right now I have SkyRim running and I'm just letting it sit here in the forest and stress test the RAM and CPU + Video Card. It's running amazing, going to let it run for an hour or so to see if it crashes.

I set the NB Freq to 2600, I set the 10-11-10 timings on the DRAM timings, I set the RAM Freq to 1866 in the BIOS and I didn't do anything else. Do you think the CPU/NB voltage still needs to be set to 1.2?

I'm going to try Hitman Absolution bench marking as soon as I get done testing this game.

See how it does for now, if you can get by with voltage as is, it will help keep the temps down

It's working fine, nothing is blue screening the computer. I'll check back in a few days and confirm stability. Thanks Tradesman for your help.

                  It's running rock solid @ 5GHZ and @ 1866!
Temps on the CPU never go over 30C under full load.
