Having issues with BSOD in Windows 8 when using xmp profile 1. What else can I do to get stable at >ddr3-1600?

    Thanks

Need the settings from the BIOS base and advanced/secondary timings, system voltages i.e. CPU, CPU/NB, DRAM, etc

All other settings are stock. I have not done anything to change default(Auto) setting in Bios for the CPU or GPU.

Settings will vary from mobo to mobo, depending on a lot of things - I need to know the actual settings to be able to have something to work with

I believe the voltage for CPU-NB defaults to 1.275V according to my research

                CPU Voltage is 1.425v

                DRAM

                PC-2133
                Cas Lat 9
                Ras to Cas 12
                Ras Precharge 10
                tRas 30
                tRC 38

Do you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard? Test each module with XMP or manual settings to see if each can work on its own. For manual settings, simply input DRAM Frequency DDR3-1866, DRAM Timings tCL 9 - tRCD 11 - tRP 10 - tRAS 28, DRAM Voltage 1.65V.

Let us know how it goes!

                    Thank you

I've spent the weekend at these settings, including a 3 hour run of Prime95 and have not had any episodes of BSOD. Thanks for the help. Is there any way to continue tweaking to have the memory stable at the PC-2133 settings specified by the XMP profile?

Check to see what CPU-NB Voltage is at DDR3-1866, then you can work up frequency and raise voltage to stabilize it.

                        Thank you

from my experience it wont be good enough.
he will have to raise for ~0.1-0.15 more then it is set when dram is 1833MHZ+ raise cpu-vid is a must .(again my experience).

Many have had to go to 1.4 on CPU/NB and even a bit higher, I'd take it up in small increments, like + 0.03 at a time
