  • Asus P8Z77-V PR, i73770k - XMP-1

Hi I'm posting this comment to follow any guidance to be direct to in referance of what I found with this mem kit that I purchase at NewEgg. I got this kit and since first day of install no glory what so ever, then I decide to wait and do some search before start calling her calling there the normal rutine that a buyer get fustrate after recived a product and don't work. Well the long story short, what happens was that one stick out of 4 came in bad. And I just found out following the process that Trademan have post on this forum.

To Test one STICK out time.

When they first came in I install all 4 mem stick and I had a very bright red light next to the Mem OK botton, then finally found so guidance to trobleshoot this kit by installing one stick out of time in Bank or slot 1, then on 3 sticks I had a success to enter the bios and set the XMP -1 and boot to Windows successfully, but one stick didn't. It stay that bright light again, press the MEM Ok botton when thru the cycle but no glory on that one, then decide to install 2 stick of memory and that's what I'm running with as right now that I'm typping this thread.

Now ? that I have how should I contact to have this mem stick replace with, GSkill or NEWEGG? Thanks 4 any info for glory guys.

If it's within the 30 day return period can exchange through the Egg - if beyond the exchange period will want to contact GSkill, believe Puerta Rico is covered via the US offices so contact rma@gskillusa.com.

and Thanx for plug, to really test DRAM you need to test 1 stick at a time, testing multiple sticks at once can both cause errors (in the interface) and also miss problems...Didn't you use to (or still) have a Maximus? Anyway keep us updated

Yes I do own the maximus still, but I setup a new rig. I did test one stick at a time that's how I found that one stick is bad. Also according this part # at the GSkill web site the specs shows SPD 1600 but when I put the RAM in the computer the ones that are working it shows SPD 1333 I should get the one that the specs shows as they suppose to, do I?. You have a good memory guy, you still remember what board I used to have, of course I just update my profile anyways. Thanks for the info guy

You may have got an early set if showing 1333, the SPD info about 1333 or 1600 is the info that goes to the mobo when initially installed, as most mobos default to 1333 or 1600 (1600 becoming more the norm)...I did 8 years in the Air Force and go with high end systems, but no, sorry, not a gamer

Yes T, U R certain. I got a new memory kit today from the EGG same part # and in BIOS it shows default speed 1600mhz @ timing 11-11-11-28- 2t. I setup the XMP-1 and set the turbo ratio to 44 and the nwe rig is on as the other memory set that I have before, the Ares 2133 which they also were 1600mhz. Well T I'm having problems uploading the pics to show U my results but sa soonas I figuire this out I will post them guy take care.

Well T I also did my assigment, went to new EGG and gave a good rating to this mem kit.

                  OC ing over 2400 MHz

Hey Tradesman, yesterday did OC my i7 3770k @ 4.7 with CPU Volt @ 1.280, load line calibration @ ultra and Ram @ 1.65. Then I got greddy and went ahead and raise the speed on ram to 2600mhz and instead of Bsod I had a Pink SOD,what could cause this? Do I have to raise what where. Beside the 1.65V on ram I had every thing else at Auto.

Prob need to take the MC (memory controller) voltage (CPUVTT) up to 1.15 to 1.2 and may have to take up the VCCSA to around 1.2. May also have to loosen the first three base timings by 1 (+1 to each)

Hey Tradesman in my Bios I see the VCCSA V option but the CPU-VTT I don't see that one, in ASUS board might be the VCCIO or PCH Voltage, which one it is?

Tradesman, U R THE MAN GUY, GSKILL should promote U TEC of THE YEAR. I did the settings and it works with (VCCSA=1.20 and VCCIO=1.20 as well. I did try the VCCIO=@1.15 and it didn't work, but with 1.20 on both so far as I'm writting this thread so far so good I'm going now to use Prime95 to se how stable my system become, TIA Trades I which I could see U aroud to pay U a BEER
