I am currently running Win8Pro(64), but may be going back to Win7HP due to inexplicable BSOD errors and StackHash errors in FSX. Mod on AVSIM said to check for memory settings, as he heard Asus has problems running on Auto. Have new Asus 1708 BIOS update, and I have set BIOS to run it's own OC. Also set XMP. CPUID gives conflicting info, but I don't really understand that program! Thanks!

I should add that I'm looking for a stable OC...I'm not an overclocker, per se, just want to make sure I've got things set OK.

The sabertooth advertises supporting up to 1866 - but I've run 2133 on it, Do you have the 2 stick or the 4 stick set? Might try manually starting at 2133, 9-11-11-31, 2T, 1.65, and CPU/VTT voltage at 1.15....if that works then try 2400 at 10-12-12-31, 2T, 1.65, CPU/VTT at 1.16 and VCCSA up to 1.14

        Thanks Tman...

I built this system back in May with Windows 7-64, and only used the Asus Auto-OC. Ran great! I have the 2-stick set, thinking that one day I could go to 32gb. But since loading Win8Pro64 last week (only new HW is a Samsung 840 Pro 256gb SSD I loaded the OS on), have had numerous errors coming up that point to memory, drivers, and some HW faults. I spent 2 days last week just making sure ALL of my drivers were up-to-date, one-by-one, and now (before last night) I was getting sporatic memory-pointing errors. Hence my post. MY main use for this system is FSX, and I use ALOT of addons on it. After reporting some StackHash error reports, Jim on AVSIM advised he's seen that Asus has bad rep for auto OC settings and suggested I use XMP settings for this system, citing his own experience with an Asus MB. Although I only have about 3 hours of use since changing to XMP profile, things have been running REAL GOOD. I just want to make sure I'm not going to blow out the CPU or something!

My BIOS says I have 10-12-12-31-2N-1.65v-1.25v/ DRAM Voltage ranges from 1.648-1.652, VCCSA is .975v, CPU PLL Voltage is 1.813, and PCH Voltage is 1.072.

        CPU-Z says:

Anything seem horrible to you? Although Asus is rep'd to be a really good MB, as a novice, the UEFI can be daunting. Is there anything else I should check? I really do appreciate it!

How about CPU/VTT voltage? Might try it at 1.16 or so, it's the MC (memory Controller) voltage...Might also kick the DRAM voltage to about 1.68-1.69 and see if that helps if the MC voltage doesn't
