  • Falcon 64GB not detecting any more

Guys, I have the following SSD:

    FM-25S2S-64GBF1

It has been working fine then with no warning it would not boot any more, it doesnt show in bios and does not show in windows when attached to another system. From issues others have reported I see I need to try to flash the firmware but need to check if it detects first with jumper connected, where is proceedure outlined?

Oddly, I have a second identical drive that is running fine but when it is connected as a slave drive it can not be seen by bios or windows either, yet when connected on its own it boots fine, what causes this?

    Any help would be great.

    Hi,

for the FM-25S2S-64GBF1, please plug the jumper and see if the drive will showing in BIOS or not, if so, please follow the set up of firmware 1916, then firmware2030.
if not showing in the BIOS, which is mean the drive is unrecoverable, the only way is send it back for RMA, please contact the RMA department to see if you still under warranty or not.

For another drive, please back up the data and reflash the firmware again.

If it accepts a flash will my data be lost? If the drive needs RMA will the data also be lost?

If I flash the firmware is all data lost on this drive? I just had a second SSD fail the same way so I need to know before I flash them.

          Thank you.

            Hi aussie,

yes, all the data will be erase after you done the firmware re-install. once the SSD couldn't detected in BIOS, the data will not be recoverable.
