    Rats!

Last month those F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ sticks that were replaced back in Nov. last year failed again. But this time they wouldn't post ... well, one of the pair wouldn't and that's all it takes to go bust.

I've not decided what to do yet ... will most likely purchase another 2GB pair but not decided what just yet. Will get around to doing the RMA on this dual channel set when I can get to it. Running on borrowed Kingston for now.

    Hope all is well there.

    Peace, Charles

    Tman,
I'm topcat1156 and was wondering if you have suggestions for Ram for a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 motherboard. I'm considering using an Intel Core I7 920 CPU. Any suggestions are appreciated. I've read some of your mail on this forum and will take your suggestions seriously. Unlike some.

    T,
Could you do 3 boxes by the 8th, 2 MS (870/6) and a BB (960/12)? Will have all components/sw on 3rd, standard + extras on the BB. $350?

    Intel DX58SO and G.SKILL F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought the following kit online G.SKILL F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 9-9-9-24 Triple Channel Memory Kit. It only seems to boot properly at 1066mhz

I'm running it on an intel DX58SO motherboard with an i7 920 processor.

According to intel this board supports 1600mhz. (see link)

    HTML Code:
http://www.intel.com/products/deskto...-overview.htmI don't plan on overclocking the cpu or the ram. I just need to know the ideal settings to get this ram running at 1600mhz. i.e. timings/multipliers/voltages and anything else I may need to set.

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I switch machines/browsers etc. I'm really gutted by AMD. Apparently I can only run 2 DIMMs at 1066MHz. It adds to my frustration. I'm glad the situation is somewhat resolved. I'm keen to know if I run in single channel, can I hit 1066 or will that be a worse option than Dual Channel 800. You've been a great help anyways.

I just wish we could all go back to the simple days. Look how many gimmicks are on sale at Newegg and NCIX. It's disheartening.
